Data recording is a key part of each survey. The status of every nest box is recorded on a sheet, whether it contains a dormouse or not. A separate sheet is used to record the details of each dormouse found. It is important that the data is recorded precisely because, after the survey, it is transferred to a database which provides the core resource for our research.
Before taking part, we ask each surveyor to learn the recording method by reading the notes provided.
